shandong medical college is a provincial full-time regular higher education institution with two campuses in linyi and jinan respectively. the linyi campus was established in 1966 in yishuias a branch of qingdao medical college, whichwaslater named yishui medical college in 1972 and then linyi medical college in 1986 when it was relocated to the linyi city. in 2004, it was renamed shandong medical college. the jinan campus was originally shandong provincial health cadre school established in 1954,whichwaslaternamed shandong health cadre training institute and then shandong jinan health school in 1958.in 1989, shandong health school was reestablished and in 2005 it was incorporated into shandong medical college.

thecollege covers an area of 1,667mu（about 111.1333 hectares) with atotalconstruction area of383,800square meters, fixed assets worth 1.217 billion yuan, teaching instruments and equipment valued at 238 million yuan, a library collection of 1.2094 million volumes,anddigital resources amounting to 3.8035 million volumes. currently, thefull-time student population totals around 28,000,of whom5,683 are enrolled in the integrationprogram of secondaryandhighervocationaleducation .

faculty and teaching staff

the faculty consists of 1,054 full-time teachers, with 67.5% holding senior titles and 58.23% holding master's degrees or higher. there are 5provincial teachingteams, 3provincial huang danian-style teaching teams, 6provincialvocationaleducationinnovationteams, 2provincialyouthinnovationteams, 4provincialvocationaleducationmasterstudios, and 1provincialvocationaleducationskillsinheritance andinnovationplatform. one teacher has been awarded provincial outstanding teacher,7 awardedprovincial teachingmasters, 1 provincial top-tenmoralmodels in teaching, 3 provincial youth skill masters, and 2 provincial technical experts. in the recent five years, more than 60 teachers have served as chairs or vice-chairsinacademic organizations, teaching guidance committees, and professional construction guidance committees ofnational,provincial ormunicipal-level. more than 50 teachers have been appointed as editors-in-chief or deputy editors-in-chief of national and provincial level.

training conditions

thecollege has built 17 high-standard experimental and training centers on campus, 1provincialkeylaboratory for medicaland health , and 1 academician workstation ofhe lin personalized medicine and translational medicine. with 252 off-campus internship and training bases distributed in shandong province and beijing, shanghai, nanjing, shenzhen,xinjianguygur autonomous region and other places, the college has 10 affiliated hospitals. it has also led the formation of shandong health vocational education group with 100 member units, the school-hospital cooperation council with 152 member units, shandong medical and health industry-education integration community with 70 member units, and medical and health industry-education integration alliance with over20 member units. six secondary colleges have been established, including lunan public health college, lunan optometry college, xinhua medical technology college, sunshine health college, rural doctor training college, and renhong health college.school-enterprise cooperation projectshave been implementedwith well-known domestic enterprises such as wego group, lunan pharmaceutical group, luye pharma group,andhealth engine (beijing) medical technology corporation and so on.

the specialty setup encompasses 4 primary professional categories: medical and health, public management and services, resources, environment, and safety, and food, pharmaceuticals, and grain, whichincludes 13 specialized fields such as clinical medicine, nursing, and health management and promotion, with 30 majors on offer and student recruitment across 16 provinces and cities.and among them, 2 majors are supported bycentralfinance for key construction, 1major amongthe first batch ofnational vocationalcollegehealthservicedemonstrationmajors, 1 pilot major of the modernapprenticeship ofministry of education, 12 pilot projects for the 1 xcertificatesystemof moe, 2provincial high-levelprofessionalgroups, 3provincial brandprofessionalgroups, and one “3 2”associate-bachelor's degree program.shandong medical college is the largest provincial public full-time regular higher education institution in shandong province，offering the most comprehensive range of programs in the fields of medical,healthand healthservices.

teaching and research

in recent years, thecollege has obtained 167naturalscience programs at or above the municipal and departmental level,andmore than 290programs ofhumanities and social sciences as well as educational teaching research,which include 4programs supported bynational natural science foundation, 3supported by provincialnaturalsciencefoundation, 2byministry of education, andover 150 researchprograms at provincial and departmental level. it has won 2state-levelteachingachievementaward,andmore than 80awards for scientificresearch at theprovincial and ministerial level and above.

resource construction

the school has built 3nationalonlinequalitycourses, 2 national excellent resources sharing courses, 3 planned courses ofchina health vocational education mooc alliance, 4recommendedcourses of thefirst batch moe communityeducationcourses, 37onlinequalitycourses atprovincial level or above, and 2provincial first-classcorecoursedevelopment programs. it has built 3 provincialvocationaleducationprofessionalteachingresourcedatabases as well. more than 240plannedtextbooks and works have been compiled at national and provincial levels. the school has led the development of 13 provincial teaching normative documents and undertakenthe task of writing syllabus and examination guide of the national health professional technical qualification examination forpharmacists. in recent years, it has led the formulation (revision) of the vocational education professional profiles and teaching standards formedical imagingtechnology andradiationtherapytechnology of the national health commission's higherand secondary vocational education, and developed 6 provincial teaching guidance for majorsof clinical medicine,pharmacy,imagingtechnology and so on.

the college has established cooperative relations with universities, medical institutions, and enterprises in 18 countries and regions such as the united states, japan, the united kingdom, south korea, russia, and germany, carrying out cooperative programs of credit mutual recognition, academic advancement, student employment, and teacher training.cooperativetraining programs have been carried outwith thetyumen state medical university of russia fornursing, withkyungun universityof southkorea for dentalmedicine, and with dongsin universityofsouth koreafor optometrytechnology. cooperation agreements have also been signedwith germannursingeducation andcare institutions. the school isnow a member unit of the chinese higher nursing education alliance, a cooperative member unit of the international standards forprofessionalnurses (ispn), a deputy director unit of the guanghua international nursing education alliance, anda member unit of the sino-russian (shandong) international education cooperation alliance.

talent cultivation
